1. Phone Company
Make arrangements for your new telephone service (Quest: 1-800-244-1111).
Always ask that the new residence be installed and the old one be
disconnected 2-4 hours afterward. This will save you potential communications
aggravation on your move day.
2. Long Distance Services
Call your long distance provider and let them know your new
phone number and address.
3. Utilities Call
to arrange for your utilities changeover (Xcel: 1-303-623-1234, Denver
Water: 1-303-534-1449)
4. Television Call
your TV cable/dish provider (AT&T: 1-303-930-2000, DishNetwork:
1-800-333-3474)
5. Mail Rerouting
Arrange the forwarding of your mail with the United States Postal
Service. This should be done at least 30 days before your move or
as soon as you know your new address and the date of your move. Your
mail will be forwarded for 12 months at no charge.
6. New Address Notification
While you are arranging your mail forwarding, pick up free
Notification Postcards (Form 3576) at your post office. Send notices
to:
Personal: family, friends,
magazine & newspaper subscriptions, book & music clubs
Professional: medical doctor, dentist, lawyer
Government Office: social security administration
Family/Children Related: childrens school, daycare,
library
Financial Affairs: bank, finance companies, credit card companies,
insurance companies
