Who to contact before you move

Remember to notify all of the following people that you are moving:

1. Phone Company – Make arrangements for your new telephone service (Quest: 1-800-244-1111). Always ask that the new residence be installed and the old one be disconnected 2-4 hours afterward. This will save you potential communications aggravation on your move day.

2. Long Distance Services – Call your long distance provider and let them know your new phone number and address.

3. Utilities – Call to arrange for your utilities changeover (Xcel: 1-303-623-1234, Denver Water: 1-303-534-1449)

4. Television – Call your TV cable/dish provider (AT&T: 1-303-930-2000, DishNetwork: 1-800-333-3474)

5. Mail Rerouting – Arrange the forwarding of your mail with the United States Postal Service. This should be done at least 30 days before your move or as soon as you know your new address and the date of your move. Your mail will be forwarded for 12 months at no charge.

6. New Address Notification – While you are arranging your mail forwarding, pick up free Notification Postcards (Form 3576) at your post office. Send notices to:

Personal: family, friends, magazine & newspaper subscriptions, book & music clubs
Professional: medical doctor, dentist, lawyer
Government Office: social security administration
